Crop Production

Corn and soybeans are the primary source of revenue for Schieffert Farms. We grow these crops because of their profit potential which is not provided by other grain options. Careful and extensive marketing of our grain often gives Schieffert Farms the competitive edge.
Proper fertilization is very crucial in order to maximize yields. Schieffert Farms use GPS derived soil samples. Fertilizer is then applied based on a prescription from these GPS samples. Schieffert Farms strives to get the proper nutrients in the required amounts to each acre of a farm. Doing this task with an extreme amount of precision results in maximum production from each acre that is planted.
The agriculture industry is rapidly changing and consolidating. The past several years has yielded enormous technologies and we will continue to seek additional efficiencies as we move into the future.
